Frame sliders are designed to absorb the impact from a fall or drop. (Think: garage or parking lot drop). Saving your plastics and preventing a dent in the tank is their job. We recommend frame sliders for the rider who is not actively stunting and doesn't need greater levels of protection. There's 1 anchor point on a frame slider compared to 2 on a street cage, and 3 on crash cages. Frame sliders are generally made from plastic or aluminum or a combination of both.
Street cages are designed for the every day rider who is not actively stunting but wants additional protection over what frame sliders offer. (Think: Aggressively cornering) There are two mounting points on a street cage which makes them much more durable than frame sliders, but also less bulky than a traditional crash cage. Street cages are made from steel.
Crash Cages offer maximum protection. There are 3 mounting points on a crash cage and are also made from steel. Crash cages are recommended (an essential) for riders that are actively stunting whether professionally or beginners in the lot. Look at the cost of a crash cage as an investment for your bike.
